Biographical Statement

Christine Weideman was named Carrie S. Beinecke Director of Manuscripts and Archives in the Yale University Library in January, 2008. Prior to that time she served as assistant head, deputy director, and interim director of the repository. She began her career as an assistant archivist at the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan and worked there until she left for Yale.  She has extensive experience in the core functions of archival repositories and in their administration. She has numerous presentations and publications to her credit, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society of American Archivists.
